Delete your Homingo account.
You can delete your account in the Homingo app (the marketplace app on Google Play and the App Store, and market.homingo.co.in) at any time. Here are the three ways to do it, what gets deleted, and what we keep.
1 · Fastest
In the app
- 01Open the Homingo app and sign in.
- 02Tap the Account tab at the bottom.
- 03Scroll to the Account section and tap Delete account.
- 04Enter your password and tap Schedule deletion.
You are signed out straight away and your account is deleted 10 days later (see what happens and when). Signed up with Google or Apple and have no password? Use the web form below with the email address on your account.
2 · No app needed
On the web
Enter the email address on your Homingo account. We email it a link to confirm the deletion; the link works for 24 hours, and nothing changes until you open it. Opening it schedules the deletion of the Homingo account that uses that email address.
3 · If the other two don't work
By email
Write to official@homingo.co.in with the subject Delete my Homingo account, and name the email address or phone number on the account. Send it from that email address if you can. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours before we delete it, so that nobody can delete someone else's account.
What happens and when
- Straight away
- You are signed out, your sign-in sessions are cancelled, and your listings are hidden from everyone on Homingo. Sign out of the app on your other phones first: an app still signed in elsewhere can cancel the request in the first hour.
- The next 10 days
- Changed your mind? Sign in to Homingo again before the 10 days are up and the deletion is cancelled: your account and listings come back, and we email you to say so.
- After 10 days
- Your account is deleted for good, as described below. It cannot be restored.
What is deleted
- Your name, email address, phone number and profile photo.
- Your bio and location details (city, state, country, PIN code).
- Your password and Google sign-in link, and every sign-in session.
- Your saved favourites.
- Your listings and the photos you uploaded are taken down and no one can see them again.
What we keep
- An account record under an internal ID number, with no name, email, phone or photo (with Apple's identifier for your account if you used Sign in with Apple), so other records that point to it still work.
- Your hidden listings and photos, in our records only.
- Messages you already sent stay in the other person's chat.
- The record of a web deletion request (the email address, time, IP address and any note you added), as proof we handled it.
- If you registered for Homingo Hack Days, that registration (name, email, phone, college) is not removed by account deletion.
- Records the law requires us to keep, such as payment or tax records, for as long as the law requires.
Other than legally required records, these stay for as long as Homingo runs. To have any of them erased too, write to official@homingo.co.in.
